Mooresville, NC (April 28, 2013) - Ryan Partridge and the PPL Motorsports team headed to Irwindale Event Center (IEC) for their first Super Truck race of the 2013 season. After qualifying on pole, the weekend was shaping up to be a great return to the series for Partridge.
After qualifying, Partridge spun the wheel and drew outside pole for the 40 lap feature race. Battling for the lead, Partridge made the pass and by the halfway mark had a 3 car length lead. With just three laps remaining an untimely caution came out and as the field reset for a restart, the No. 48 just quit. After tearing down the truck, the problem was diagnosed as a hole in the pick up line in the fuel cell. The team received a DNF.
“We were so close to our second win of the season and to end the race with a DNF is very disappointing,” Partridge said. “We’ll be back at it next weekend and looking for another win.”
Next up for Partridge, returning to IEC this weekend in the late model and bringing back the same car he won the season opener with.
